Reinforcing bar is cast into concrete to carry the tension loads that concrete alone handles poorly. Y8 is a ribbed high-tensile bar with an 8mm nominal diameter, a light size used in slabs, paving, steps and small beams. The ribs help the concrete grip the steel.
