A geyser timer is wired into the geyser circuit and switches the element on and off at the times set on it. Limiting heating to the hours when hot water is needed is a common way of reducing electricity use.
This unit is rated at 20A and is listed as a dual mount type. A geyser timer is connected to fixed wiring, which is work for a qualified electrician.
