V-shaped hip starter in red for Double Roman tiled roofs, fitted at the bottom end of a hip to begin the run of hip cappings.

A hip starter is the first piece laid at the lower end of a roof hip, where two roof slopes meet at an outside angle. It closes off the end of the hip line at the eaves, and the rest of the hip cappings are laid upwards from it.
This one is the V-shaped type in red, for use on roofs covered with Double Roman tiles.
